Bachhüschi Nutli Hüschi
The cosy wooden house Nutli Hüschi is the regional museum of Klosters and shows the traditional way of life and construction of the Walser people vividly and with great attention to detail. “Hüschi” is the word for a small house in the Prättigau dialect. The wooden house, built in 1565 in the „Strickbau“-log style, bears the name of its builder Christian Nutli. It was used as a residence until the 19th century. Today the museum shows an interesting collection of valuable furniture, tools and toys from the 16th – 18th century.
In autumn 2016 a wood-oven baking house was added to the museum. From June to mid-September, the smell of delicious, fresh bread fills the air every Friday afternoon when the Bachhüschi is in operation. Interested visitors can bake their own bread using flour from the nearby tube mill and then take it home. A very special and delicious experience.
